Girona tried it's best but just couldn't stand the offensive power of Villareal.

Moreno started the introduction to a horrible day for Girona with a shot from about 16 metres straight into the right post and into the net and got Villareal an early 1:0 lead. 

14 Minutes later the defenders from Girona got interrupted, Bacca gets the ball with a great pass into the penalty box and scores easily with a precise shot into the left corner.

Girona managed to get great chances, too, but they just couldn't finish their attacks with enough concentration. They hit the post and were in front of Asenjo two times who was able to save the 2:0 lead till the very last minute. 

As the time goes by things got a little heated up and Girona tried to foul a few players of Villareal but all in all it was a fair game the whole time. 

Toko-Ekambi got into the game in the 80th minute and had a great chance only 2 minutes later as he hit the post with a header. But he was able to score with a header in the 86th minute of the game and gave Villareal the 3:0 win.

Obviously Girona surrendered and didn't even try to score after that 3:0 but who could blame them for that? 

Like i said it was a fair game but the 3:0 win is a little too high i guess because Girona had their chances to score goals as well. Girona lost the ball in transition a little too often and that's why Villareal had more and better chances.
